Year 9 Girls learn about girls-in-STEM programme from CoachBright

On Tuesday morning all Year 9 girls worked with Amelia and William from CoachBright (http://www.coachbright.org/) to learn about their girls-in-STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) programme.

CoachBright works with pupils 1-1 and in a group context to help them become independent and resilient learners so they lead the lives they want.

Each pupil will be paired up with a female STEM student from the University of Exeter. The pairs will do one hour of coaching together per week (Wednesday’s 3pm – 4pm). The programme is a term long and also includes a launch trip, mid-programme workshop and Graduation event at Exeter University.

The programme aims to boost girls knowledge of, and confidence in, STEM subjects.

We are kicking off the programme on Wednesday 20th September, 1pm – 4pm at The University of Exeter Streatham Campus. The event aims to give the pupils a sample of the academic and social life university offers, and they will meet their coach for the first time!
