World Book Day 2019

Last week, CEC celebrated World Book Day and we were overwhelmed by the incredible array of costumes and the effort from the staff and pupils alike. Thank you to all that came dressed up; it was fantastic to see everyone getting involved – especially Mr Farmer who proudly went to an important meeting dressed as the BFG, demonstrating how much the campus embraces reading and literacy.

During the day we had a variety of activities happening: from blind date books in the Secondary Library, a whole-school book character treasure hunt, a shared story across all lessons in Secondary (the story is attached if you’d like to share too) and parents coming in to share pupils’ favourite stories in Primary. We had several entries for the treasure hunt and the winners, along with the fancy dress winners, will be revealed in next week’s assemblies.

I would like to thank you for your continued support in promoting a love of reading to our pupils.

Kind regards
