Upcoming Events in Nursery

Last week in Nursery was a very busy time – thank you all so much for the wonderful costumes you provided for our postponed World Book Day, and it was lovely to see an array of costumes throughout the week. The children had a lovely time on Friday too during our messy maths day – I think the water balloons were a particular hit!

Here are some reminders about what is coming up soon for Nursery –
• This week is National science week and throughout the school, including Nursery, we will be trying out some fun simple science activities every day – pop in at the end of the day to find out what we have been doing!
• Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th March – Parents Evenings. In Nursery this term we are having a slightly different format for parents evening – a drop in session where you do not need to make an appointment, and you can find out about the things we get up to in Nursery! Nursery rooms will be open from 3.30pm until 5.30pm , and around the rooms will be lots of activities and information to help you learn more about how we teach and develop Early Writing/Mark making skills. You may be surprised at some of the things we do! Teachers and staff will all be available to chat about your child’s learning, although there is no timetabled slot for one to one meetings this term. Your child’s Learning Journey will be available for you to look through. Please come along, join in with some of the activities with your child, have a drink and a biscuit, and find out more!
• Easter bonnet making – every afternoon during the last week of this term (Monday 26th – Thursday 29th March) we will be making Easter Bonnets with the children and would love you to come and help! Please can you provide your child with a simple hat which you are happy for them to decorate (places such as Home Bargains and the Pound shop are selling these really cheaply) or you could use an old woolly hat, baseball cap etc. We will provide the rest to decorate! You are welcome to join us any afternoon from 1.30pm to help your child create a bonnet – don’t worry if you are unable to attend, your child will still get to make one. At the end of each afternoon we will be parading our creations to the children in our Reception and Year 1 classes. There will be a sign up outside your Nursery rooms nearer the time to sign up for the day you would like to attend.
Have a lovely week!
