Dear Parent/Carer
Firstly, I hope you are all safe, well and managing during this challenging situation. Thank you for your continued support doing this uncertain time. A reminder that if you have any urgent concerns during the period of closure, please email urgent@cranbrookeducationcampus.org.uk
I would like to highlight some key updates/messages below and attached.
Staff have been working hard to ensure that the home learning plans for each Year group and subject are clear and allow pupils to continue with their learning at home. The summaries within the attached letter (200409 update Covid 19 CEC) outline the detailed plans for home learning in Early Years (Nursery & Reception), Primary and Secondary subjects. Please see section below if access to IT is an issue. We will have printed resources available in reception for all subjects/Year groups. We will also be able to provide additional exercise books if needed via reception. Please call on 01404 823293 or drop in to reception between 09:00-15:00.
If there is no access to a Computer at home or a device is being shared. Please complete this form: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=xk-IrGkR2Uez_ScNltpuaEtitsqc8ZZImqDfFzXZkd1URFowQzVaVkExODlVV1VESzdRSkZIMEdHNi4u
We are exploring ways of configuring our Chromebooks so they would work at home and could be provided to support with the range of online tasks being set via home learning.
If you are a critical worker, thank you for all the work you are doing! If you have already been contacted via our admin team regarding the provision you need for the week beginning Tuesday 14th April then you do not need to do this again. If you are a critical worker and we were unable to offer provision for your child(ren) then please complete the form below so we can review the need and confirm if we can offer a place. This provision is strictly for critical workers who have no other adult at home to look after children and who are immediately required in the response to this virus. You can also email reception@cranbrookeducationcampus.org.uk if your situation changes and you need immediate support.
Messages have been sent directly to parents/carers who have children who we know are in receipt of Free School Meals. We will be using the new national system for providing FSM vouchers moving forward, however, we are also able to provide food parcels. If you have not already completed, please complete this form to specify your preference for the weeks beginning Monday 20th and Monday 27th April.
If you are not sure of your eligibility for Free School Meals then Apply through the Devon Citizens Portal (https://oneonline.devon.gov.uk/CCSCitizenPortal_LIVE/Account/Login?ReturnUrl=%2fCCSCitizenPortal_live). This is the quickest and easiest way to apply and will result in you getting an instant decision. Alternatively, call the Education Helpline on 0345 155 1019.
For all other FSM enquiries, please email FSM@cranbrookeducationcampus.org.uk
Ofqual has released the following guidance for pupils and parents on how qualifications will be graded and awarded in summer 2020: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/gcses-as-and-a-level-awarding-summer-2020
We will be working hard to ensure that our centre assessed grades are a true reflection of the hard work and effort put in by Year 11 pupils. We will write to Year 11 parents/carers and pupils after May half term to outline how we plan to celebrate the end of Year 11 properly with pupils due to the unexpected end to the academic year.
We will work with local post 16 providers to provide work over the coming weeks that will support pupils with their transition onto their chosen courses. Exeter college have a package called Flying Start and will be sending us more details about this next week. There is also an update from Exeter college regarding applications: https://exe-coll.ac.uk/information-on-how-coronavirus-covid-19-will-affect-all-applying-students-at-exeter-college/
If your child(ren) is suffering with their mental health and wellbeing. Please email Mrs Wade on anna.wade@cranbrookeducationcampus.org.uk and we will make contact to see how we can best support.
