Thought of The Week - Only be able to see in black and white OR be able to see in colour but have all the colours mixed up?

Theme: Only be able to see in black and white OR be able to see in colour but have all the colours mixed up?

Quote:

“There are no lines in nature, only areas of colour, one against another.”

  • Edouard Manet

Explanation/Question/Challenge:

Do you find it weird to think you will never be able to see through someone else’s eyes? What we see could be completely different to what other people see but we wouldn’t have a clue.  In some cultures they are only able to perceive 4 or 5 colours because they are only taught the words for the colours.  Their perspective would be completely different to ours because of the environment they grew up in.

  • If you could live the day as someone else, who would you choose and why?
  • If you had to get rid of one colour, what would you get rid of?
  • In pairs think about things that your families do differently. How does this affect your perspective on life?
