It was a great opportunity to attend the Mock Trial held by the Exeter University Law students at The Maynard School earlier this month. It was a really fun evening, but also very informative and gave the students a real sense of what it would be like to be a barrister. They started by analysing the evidence, then with the help of the university students came up with a list of admissible questions to ask the witnesses and defendant. The students then took over all of the roles in the mock trial itself. Donned in legal gowns and with an actual judge (a tutor from the University who kindly offered to take part!) at the helm they found the defendant guilty!
