Sustrans arrived to CEC Secondary with the cycle simulator

Two turbo trainers and racing bikes were set up in the canteen on Monday 20th March. One bike was used to warm up, the other was used for the 1 kilometre challenge which was attached to a ‘BKOOL’ simulator that can identify how much power is put in and transfer this to a rider on the screen ahead.

There were 12 participants in the half an hour lunch slot which gained times varying from 2 minutes and 50 seconds to the fastest time from by Kayleigh at 1 minute and 57 seconds! It was also great to see some teachers get involved!

This event was the first from a series of events organised by Sustrans as part of The Big Pedal 2017- a national interschool cycle and scooter challenge to encourage active travel as part of the school journey.
