Reception Weekly News - 30/11/2018

Dear parents/carers,

Christmas is coming!! Things are really getting busy now and from Monday we will be seeing lots of Christmas sparkle in our Reception classes. This week’s letter is all about the arrangements for our Christmas activities. Please do not hesitate to talk to your child’s teachers or contact me if you have any questions.

CHRISTMAS EVENTS AND DETAILS

Friday 7th December – School Christmas fayre.

The Christmas Fayre runs in the main atrium of the school between 4pm and 6pm. Our Reception children are making gifts “Handmade at Christmas” and Mrs Cromwell and Mrs Goode will be running a stall to sell them. If anybody has any Christmassy coloured wool to help make these gifts, please bring it to the class bases.

Monday 10th December (2.15pm) and Tuesday 11th December (9.30am) Reception classes Nativity Play “Whoops-a-daisy Angel.”

  • You will have now all received details of your child’s role in the play, and information about the costume needed. PLEASE CAN ALL COSTUMES BE IN SCHOOL BY THURSDAY 6th DECEMBER (FRIDAY 8th AT THE ABSOLUTE LATEST) so we can ensure everybody has what they need before our dress rehearsal on the following Monday. If you are having difficulty with the costume, please speak to your child’s teacher.
  • Tickets are now available in the main Reception (2 tickets per child per performance) Please ensure you have collected the tickets you require before the end of the day on Wednesday 5th Dec, as remaining tickets will be allocated on a first come first served basis on Thursday morning.

Friday 14th December – Save the Children National Christmas Jumper Day

  • Non uniform day where we invite all children and adults to wear a Christmas Jumper to school. This is a national fundraising event for Save the Children, and the suggested donation is £1 per child.

Monday 17th December (pm) Christmas craft afternoon

  • We would like to invite you to come and join your child in our Reception bases for an afternoon of creative Christmas activities. The afternoon will start at 1.30 pm, please come to the main black gates into the playground where somebody will let you in.

Thursday 20th December 9.15 am – end of term Early Years/Primary carol service

  • Main hall, 9.10 am – this will replace our normal Friday morning Primary assembly. All children, including Nursery, will attend. Please come along and join our festive end of term singalong!

Thursday 20th December (pm) Reception pyjama snuggle party

  • To end our busy term, the children in Reception will have a snuggle party on the last afternoon. Please can your child bring some Pyjamas or onesie, slippers if they have them and a cuddly toy. We will provide them with hot chocolate and cookies and we will enjoy festive Christmas films together.

 

Term ends at 3.15 on Thursday 20th December, and we return to school on Tuesday 8th January.

On another note completely and nothing to do with Christmas, please can your child bring in any recycling materials for junk modelling next week. We are going to need lots!
