Reception Weekly News - 29/03/2019

Dear parents/carers,

I cannot believe there is only one more week until we break up for the Easter Holidays! It has been a short but very productive half term and the children in Reception have LOVED learning about Naughty Bus. The opportunities were endless…. A visit to our school bus for stories, exploring baked beans, saving the bus from the pond and some amazing writing were just a few of the fun things the children got up to!

Home learning

Thank you for those of you who have taken part in our Home Learning spring investigation – we look forward to making a bright spring display showing all your lovely family learning. Please bring in the completed home learning by the end of next week. Thanks.

Reception Garden

Next week we will be planting herbs in our garden to use in our mud kitchen, and we have new shrubs arriving to add to the trees we planted this week. Our Gardening helping hands are busy keeping control of the weeds and watering every day.

Sickness

I am aware that there have been concerns about the level of cleanliness in school recently – I would like to reassure everybody that ALL our soap dispensers are checked daily by the team and refilled when running glow. The team, as they do with any sickness outbreak, have been working hard disinfecting all equipment and ensuring they clean thoroughly in addition to the work of our school cleaners. I would also like to point out that there are still several children who are coming to school when they are unwell, and I cannot stress enough the importance of keeping your child at home when they are unwell, and for AT LEAST 48 hours after the last bout of sickness. If we all work together to minimise the risk of infection from the inevitable bugs that pass amongst young children will reduced as far as it can be.

Thank you for your continued support. Please remember that we are always available at the beginning and end of the day if you have any questions or concerns, or you can make an appointment to see me…… and don’t forget we break up for Easter next Friday (5th April) for two weeks, and return to school on Tuesday 23rd April, the day after Easter Monday.

Have a lovely weekend,

Julie Simpson
