As a Secondary student at Cranbrook Education Campus you will experience a broad and varied curriculum taught by innovative, specialist teachers who will ensure you make the best progress possible.
During years 7 and 8 (Key Stage 3) you will experience a full range of subjects including the core subjects of English, Maths and Science, the EBacc subjects of Geography, History and a language as well as Art, Drama, Music, Computing, PSHE and Religious Education.
During years 9, 10 and 11 (Key Stage 4) you will study for your GCSEs. You will take GCSEs in the core subjects which include English Language, English Literature, Maths and Science (either double Science or separate Sciences), in the EBacc subjects which include Geography or History (or both) and a language, as well as choosing your options from the arts, sport and IT/Computing.
You will be regularly assessed to ensure you are making progress and this will be communicated via our Strength, Target and Response marking system within lessons and you will receive three reports each year documenting your progress. In Key Stage 3 you will receive a grade using the language of Emerging, Developing, Secure or Mastered and during Key Stage 4 you will receive your projected GCSE grade based on your current achievement.
In addition to the outstanding teaching you will receive you will also be able to choose from an exciting programme of extra curricular activities including Science club, sports clubs including trampolining, Computing club and outdoor activities including Duke of Edinburgh and Ten Tors.
You will also be able to help us shape the future of the campus by getting involved in student voice, the Eco group and being involved in future staff interviews. If you have any ideas on how we can improve the campus you just need to tell your tutor in the first instance.
