Nursery Weekly Letter - 09/11/2018

Dear parents/carers,

This week has been a busy one for our Nursery children – it was lovely to see them join the rest of the school this morning in our Remembrance Day assembly. We have been exploring Halloween, Bonfire Night and autumn celebrations this week which has been lots of fun. Next week we start our new Literacy book “So Much” which is all about family celebrations and being part of a family, whilst also giving the chance for children to think about different cultures and celebrations.

IMPORTANT!!

If your child is due to start school in September you need to apply online. You need to do this between 15th November and 15th January.

Apply at www.devon.gov.uk/admissionsonline

If you cannot access the website, you can get more information by calling the Education Helpline on 0345 155 1019 or email : admissions@devon.gov.uk

There will be information about this on our outside notice board from Monday. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT ATTENDING CRANBROOK EDUCATION CAMPUS NURSERY DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY GUARANTEE YOU A PLACE AT THE SCHOOL AND ALL APPLICATIONS NEED TO BE COMPLETED VIA THE ONLINE PROCESS.

Are you thinking of sending your child to Cranbrook Education Campus?

We will be holding an open day/evening for new September starters on Thursday 22nd November. There will be two meetings – 2pm and 6pm. These meetings will begin with a short talk from myself and Mr Farmer, followed by a tour of the school and an opportunity to ask any questions.

New gate

It’s in! Hope there wasn’t too much confusion at the beginning of the week. Hopefully this will now ease congestion at busy times of the day as our Primary numbers grow, and also to make it easier for our Nursery children to vacate the area in case of fire.

Parents Evenings

It was good to see those of you who attended the parents drop in evenings on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, and hopefully you found the handout on “Natural Learning” informative. If you were unable to attend, please ask one of the Nursery team for this information pamphlet.

Parent workshops

Unfortunately we have had to CANCEL the parent workshop about Early Phonics on Monday as only 4 parents have signed up to attend across the 2 sessions, and these numbers really do not make running the course viable. Apologies to those of you who were keen to take part.

Thank you for your continued support. Please remember that we are always available at the beginning and end of the day if you have any questions or concerns, or you can make an appointment to see me.

Have a lovely weekend,

Julie Simpson EYFS LEAD
