Nursery News - 28/09/2018

Dear parents/carers,

We have had quite an unusual week in Nursery this week with both of our teachers absent. We are very glad to announce that Mrs Hall will be returning on Monday. Mrs Clements is due to have a small operation this weekend which will mean she will be away from Nursery all next week to recover. We are very fortunate that Jill Moseley, our cover teacher, will be working with Red Base and the rest of the team for the duration of that time. I would like to say a massive thank you to the Nursery team for the way they have pulled together this week, working tirelessly to ensure the quality of your children’s education and care has not been affected at all. We are very fortunate to have them as a team.

Next week

Next week in Nursery we will be starting to think about Autumn – if you are out and about with your child this weekend and you find anything interesting related to Autumn (coloured leaves, acorns etc.) please bring them in to Nursery so we can make a lovely Autumn display and talk about them in our learning. Thank you.

Fire Drill

If your child was at Nursery yesterday (Thursday) you may have heard that we had a fire drill. All the children were brilliant, lining up quickly and walking into the playground to be counted with no fuss at all (although a couple of children were a bit put out that they had to leave their half-eaten snack behind!) When the fog came down shortly after, there was lots of interesting conversation about whether or not it was smoke from a fire!

Christmas cards

I know it is not yet October, but this week your child has been given the chance to design a Christmas picture which can be made in to a Christmas card. Today/early next week every child will be bringing home their picture along with an order form for you to return to school to order cards and other merchandise using their picture. Please follow the instructions on the form. Unfortunately there is a very quick turnaround and the orders have to be returned by THURSDAY OCTOBER 4th to enable the printers to make the cards in time for Christmas.

Colder weather

The weather forecast is due to change over the weekend and start to feel more Autumnal – please can you ensure your child has a named coat in Nursery every day, and wellies to play outside in the digging area.

Can you help? We are missing a bag of wet clothes from when a child was changed, we think it has mistakenly gone into the wrong bag (red base.) A red raincoat named with the initials FW has also been mislaid. Could you please all check your child’s bag and return to our team if found. Many thanks.

Have a lovely weekend, and enjoy the last of this beautiful weather!

Thank you for your continued support.
