Mathletics

Dear Parents,

Over the next two weeks in the build up to the Easter we will be trialling a new online maths game based homework called ‘Mathletics’.

Mathletics is an online platform that allows teachers to set specific homework for your children to complete that is tailored to their needs; while also providing a gaming platform for your children to apply their skills against themselves, their class and/or school mates and then to pit themselves against the world in a World Leaderboard!

Your child will be coming home with a log in tonight and we would like to encourage you to have a look at this and enjoy it with your child.

To log in to Mathletics follow these steps:

  1. Google search ‘Mathletics UK’ or follow this link: http://uk.mathletics.com/
  2. In the top right corner, hover over sign in and choose ‘Student sign in’
  3. Type in student sign in details (from the card your child took home today) and click ‘Let me in’
  4. Choose to ‘Explore New Mathletics’
  5. Any work your child’s class teacher has set will appear first as ‘Activities Assigned to Me’. Your child has no option but to do that first.
  6. Once completed children can then choose to continue learning and can select an area they wish to learn about from the list e.g. Addition etc
  7. They can also choose to ‘Play’. This gives children the option to play against themselves, class friends, school friends or in a global competition.

For every correct answer your child gives they will receive 10 points. These will then count towards their score for the class, school and world leader boards. We will display the class and school leader boards in school.

Should your child lose their login details please speak to your child’s class teacher, Mr Evans or Mr Pratt and we will provide you with new details.

We have demonstrated all of this to your child today in assemb;y and we hope you all enjoy using this safe, fun and engaging on line tool.
