Fake news is big news at the moment - A healthy thought to end the week

Fake news is big news at the moment.

I was taught never to believe everything I read in newspapers. The same applies to the internet, but do we always remember that?

Instead of using Google, try using trusted sites. For example if you are looking for information about your health, have a look at NHS Choices.

If you do use Google, think about the information you find, such as:

  • Author – who wrote the webpage?
  • Ownership – e.g. is it a university or NHS webpage? From the UK or elsewhere?
  • Date – can you see how recent the information is?

Can you think of anything else you think you should look out for?
