Healthy Eating Week

This week is Healthy Eating Week, organised by the British Nutrition Foundation, reminding us to have breakfast, eat 5 a day and drink plenty of unsweetened drinks. They are encouraging all UK nurseries and schools, universities and workplaces to join in, to improve health, wellbeing, and self-esteem.

The British Nutrition Foundation know that it can be hard to change eating habits so they are suggesting some activities to help us achieve their challenges:

Have breakfast: they challenge us each to have a healthy breakfast (including a drink) every day

Have 5 A DAY: they challenge us each to have at least five portions of a variety of fruit and vegetables a day

Drink plenty: they challenge us each to have at least 6-8 unsweetened drinks a day – water, unsweetened tea and coffee, and lower fat milk are good choices.
