Financial awareness from Lloyds

On Tuesday, representatives (Charlie and Matt) from Lloyds bank came in to work with all Secondary students on financial awareness during their Maths lessons. The session involved students creating weekly budgets and understanding what compromises needed to be made to pay the bills, as well as understanding interest rates and how they can lead to debt.

Charlie quoted ”Cranbrook was a fantastic school to visit and we were made to feel very welcome during our time there. I was really impressed with how involved the children wanted to be and how they were not afraid to ask questions or contribute to the tasks. It was a pleasure to present to all of the classes and I hope they were all able to benefit from our presentation.”

We are very grateful to Charlie and Matt for coming in and working with our students and we look forward to representatives visiting again to help students with their CV’s and mock interviews for college/work. Also thanks to Lesley from DCH for helping link the Lloyds team with us and Terry from Lloyds for supporting Charlie and Matt’s visit.
