End of Term Letter from Mr Farmer

Dear Parent/Carer,

Where did the year go? What a wonderful year it is has been! I want to start by thanking you for your continued partnership and support, helping us to ensure our students get the best educational experience from the Campus. Highlights from this half-term include: being awarded third nationally for the ‘Big Pedal’; Year 7 and 8 awards evenings supported by our fantastic Taiko drummers; two Year 7 teams completing the ‘Exe Valley Challenge’; trips to the Northcott Theatre and St James School to watch live performances; dissections in Science and students taking part in the Exeter Inter-Schools Athletics Championships.

You can find out more about what we have been up to on our website at: https://www.cranbrookeducationcampus.org.uk/news/ and via our social media feeds on Facebook and Twitter. You can also receive mobile updates via the GroupCall Xpressions app (http://support.groupcall.com/xpressions/)

Students have received their final reports for the year and it was great that many of you attended the parent/tutor evening to celebrate the successes achieved and set targets for improvement next year. Students have also taken their end of year exams and I want to express how proud I was of them all during this process. Students raised to the challenge showing dedication, motivation and maturity.

Students have achieved a combined total of over 35,000 merits this year, demonstrating their positive behaviour for learning. It was excellent to see students enjoying their end of year reward event last Friday and it has been a privilege to hand out so many platinum reward badges during assemblies. Behaviour points will be reset in September allowing all students to start saving up for the rewards on offer via the ClassCharts reward store and for new merit badges. Please contact reception for your unique ClassCharts parent code.

Next year we are aiming for 100% attendance. Can we remind you that if your child is unwell then you need to call the school and inform us first thing in the morning? All absences will be logged as unauthorised until you contact the school.

Our updated Uniform expectations can be found at: https://www.cranbrookeducationcampus.org.uk/our-campus/secondary/uniform/.

We always welcome your feedback on how we can improve further as a campus and you can send your suggestions to us on reception@cranbrookeducationcampus.org.uk or you can give your feedback via Ofsted’s ParentView (https://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/) at any time.

I would like to say a massive thank you to our PTA group for their fantastic fund raising efforts this year. Monies raised were used to subsidise activities week by paying for the coach into Exeter. FACES is always looking for new members and you can email them on pta@cranbrookeducationcampus.org.uk to find out more.

I hope you all have an excellent summer break and enjoy everything Devon has to offer. below are the future dates for your diaries and other key information.Important Dates 2017 CEC v2
