In June pupils will be sitting their end of year Pre Public Examinations (PPE’s or mocks). Key Stage 3 (Years 7 & 8) will sit their exams during the week beginning 10th June. Key Stage 4 (Years 9 & 10) will sit their exams during the week beginning 17th June. These exams will take place in the main hall to mimic real GCSE exams and give pupils an opportunity to experience the exams process. Pupils with exam access arrangements will sit their exams in a different room and their access arrangements will be catered for. This process will also allow us to identify pupils who may need additional exam access arrangements.
Teachers will be informing pupils of the topics they need to focus their revision on and they will set revision homework via ClassCharts. Please encourage your child(ren) to speak to their teachers and ask them which topics they need to focus on if they are not sure.
We are aware that all pupils revise differently, here are websites with great advice and these summaries (Revision_Parents’_Guide_18_TW & Revision_Students’_Guide_18_TW) have been created to help. I found using mind maps and flash cards really helpful when I was sitting my exams.
Some useful websites that pupils can use to help with revision. Teachers will also set specific revision activities.
