Early Years News 29.11.19

As promised, this week’s newsletter is all about Christmas and dates for your diary-

Reception Friday drop-ins (2.45pm)

This week there will an opportunity for you to take part in some of the continuous provision activities your child experiences during a school week. There will be NO drop in next Friday (6th) as we will be setting up for the Christmas Fayre. The following Friday (13th) is our Reception parent’s afternoon (see below)

Christmas Fayre – Friday 6th December

Please come along and support the school, the Fayre starts directly after school in the atrium and the main hall. Santa will be there! The Reception children have made items to sale so please come and buy them! Nursery children are still busy collecting their jars – a further reminder has been sent out about this today.

Nursery Craft sessions

A series of sessions have been planned by the Nursery team for Nursery parents to come in and take part in some Christmas craft activities (Blue, Red and Yellow Bases) They take place at the following times-

Mon 9th December 9-10am

Tues 10th December 2-245pm

Thurs 12th December 2-2.45pm

Fri 13th December 9-10am

A sign up sheet will be available in each Nursery Base, with a maximum of 10 families per session due to space restrictions.


Tickets are now available for the reception Nativity – 2 per Reception child for each performance. I will be in the atrium at the beginning and end of each day distributing the tickets to avoid overcrowding in our busy main Reception. Please make sure all costumes are provided by the day required – any questions please speak to your child’s teacher.

Nursery Christmas Party – Wednesday 11th December, pm

Every child will receive a personal invitation for this party outlining all the details.

Reception parent’s afternoon – Thursday 12th December 2.30pm

A letter providing further details will be sent out to all Reception children

Christmas Jumper Day – Friday 13th December

School jumpers on top, normal uniform on the bottom half please! Suggested donations of £1 for Save the Children, the Christmas Jumper Day charity.

Christmas lunch – Tuesday 17th December

Aspens will be changing the online menu to a Christmas meal – please order as normal. Children will be making party hats to wear and listening to Christmas music

Reception pyjama party – Thursday 19thDecember.

For the last afternoon of term the children in our Reception classes are having a pyjama snuggle party- bring in pyjamas, onesies, slippers, blankets, teddies….and let us do the rest!

Term ends on Thursday 19th December at 3pm for our Nursery Children and 3.15pm for Reception and Primary. Nursery After School Club and FISH will be operating as normal on this day.
