Digital Takeover Day at Torre Abbey - WE'RE BEING TAKEN OVER!

On Friday 26th June, Torre Abbey will be taking part in the annual Kids in Museums Digital #TakeoverDay and we would love you to get involved!

Here’s how (don’t worry – it’s really simple…)

Throughout June, we have been sharing some of Torre Abbey’s #SummerScene art collections on our social media pages. As part of this year’s Digital #TakeoverDay we would like young people (up to age 25) to get involved from home or school by recreating one of the pieces from our collections, in any medium (eg. a photo, artwork, drawing, sculpture, dance, pose) and share your creation with us on Friday 26th June along with the #TakeoverDay hashtag and ‘@TorreAbbey’ tag.

You can also access more images of our amazing collections on the ArtUK (Facebook: @ArtUKdotorg) website – https://artuk.org/visit/collection/torre-abbey-museum-1985.

Kids in Museums will be holding a Digital Takeover Day Competition for young people in the UK who share a picture of their creation. The winner will be decided by Philip Mould, broadcaster, art dealer and Kids in Museums President. Don’t forget to use the #TakeoverDay tag!

If you would like more information, or you would prefer to send a photo of your creation by email, please contact kate.richards@torbay.gov.uk

Digital Takover Day is part of the national Kids in Museums Digital Takeover Day event, when young people take over the social accounts of museums, galleries, historic homes, archives and heritage sites across the UK. Supported by Arts Council England, Kids in Museums has held an annual digital takeover since 2014. https://kidsinmuseums.org.uk/
