Curriculum Booklet Collection for Secondary Home Learning

Curriculum Booklet Collection for Secondary Home Learning – Letter to Parents

As per yesterday’s communication regarding Essential School and Remote Learning, we will be setting our pupils’ learning via Google Classroom. The expectation – as outlined by the DFE – is that all pupils will be regularly engaging with their learning, which has to be tracked.  The remote learning delivered now will be as close as possible to the learning which would have taken place in classrooms to ensure that students do not fall further behind.  We will continue to quality assure the work completed – alongside engagement – and further to this, we will review our remote offer as standard.

Whilst we understand the challenges that parents and pupils will be facing with home learning, we would appreciate your full support in ensuring high quality engagement, and – in turn – we will support you fully.

As such, we wish your child to safely collect their assessment books and their curriculum subject booklets (as you know Cranbrook offers a well-planned booklet-led curriculum).  We wish to organise this safely and securely.  Please bring a large ‘bag for life’ as there will be a lot of resources to collect per student.  There will also be additional resources if required.  This may be heavy.

Work will still be set via Google Classroom, but in most subjects, the booklet will be required as a workbook.  Again, we would like pupils to work on their schoolwork in real time.

We are currently collating all pupils’ booklets/books and these resources will be organised and placed in our Main Hall on separate tables by tutor group. Assessment books and booklets will be ready to be collected at the allocated times (see below) on either Thursday or Friday.  Please could children wear a face covering when collecting.

Pupils will enter through the Main Hall fire-exit (the door closest to reception) and exit via the other fire door.

The risk is minimal as pupils will enter through the front entrance whilst wearing a mask. They will also be carefully supervised.   They will need to sanitise their hands and then go into the hall to collect their selection of booklets/books before exiting via the fire door.  Please could children ensure they socially distance outside the school prior to entry.
