What a final week of term! Activities week and sports day have been a huge success. Huge thanks to the PTA who funded the coaches into Exeter on Monday allowing the remaining activities to be subsidised.
We started the week with a trip to Exeter where Primary students explored Exeter Cathedral and Exeter Library. Secondary students took part in a carousel of activities including collaborative art, Geocaching, City walls tour and a scavenger hunt.
Tuesday was our cross phases sports day. The morning consisted of Secondary students taking part in a house football and netball competition alongside the javelin and discus. The afternoon was where the cross-phase magic happened. All primary students took part in a festival of sport prepared by the Secondary students where they were tested on a range of sporting abilities. Alongside this students took part in traditional track events including 100m, 200m, 800m, egg & spoon, challenge race and the relay. Massive thanks to Taylor Wimpy Exeter for donating our house cup which was claimed by the ‘Foxes’.
Wednesday involved us working in our phases. Primary had a creative arts day focused on mini beasts and creating a fantastic mosaic that will be displayed outside the parent drop off/collection point.
Secondary students had an opportunity to take part in Street Dance, Circus Skills, Trampolining, Cooking, board games and a trading game.
Thursday was our cross-phase outdoor learning day where students worked together in cross-phase house groups. There were 6 excellent activities on offer including Forest School (Camp fire cooking and sky walking), Paint & Palettes, Team Building, Mud Monsters, Pond Dipping & Bug Hunting and Giant Art. Students really enjoyed working together across the phases and made new friends.
A hugely successful week. Thank you again to our PTA, to you all as parents/carers and to our wonderful staff team.
Have a fantastic summer.
